Our trip to Norway will always be one of my favorite memories. It was something I wanted to do for the past 28 years when I first fell in love with the Norwegian Forest Cat. Norway is the most beautiful country I have ever visited from its villages to the wooded area to mountains and the fjords down to the sea village of Bergen. We visited Lillehammer and traveled the fjords by boat and went up the mountains by cog trains and a bus. We soaked up the air at the Fish Market in Bergen and enjoyed seeing the wonderful people in their national costumes. Meeting the people of Norway was a joy and I have so much to be thankful for in the wonderful person of Ina Selte who escorted us around Oslo and out to the cat show in Lillehammer and took us on a tour down memory lane by visiting the Nylund farm where it all started. We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon visiting Ina's beautiful Forest Cats and enjoying their amazing purrsonalities. My daughter and I needed that afternoon...we were missing our kitties. We also finally got to meet Bjorn Steensrud who we have been writing to for years and a fabulous judge named Raymond Saetre. Will I go back? Yes! I am hoping to return to Norway in 2010 for the World Show. Anyone want to join me? I will slowly be adding photos to this site and putting in links to them so visit often.
