Every kitten sold from Nissekatt cattery comes with a health guarantee.  The guarantee clearly states when the cat has received it's vaccinations, been examined by a Veterinarian and when it is due for it's next shots. Health Guarantee For this guarantee to be valid, the cat must be examined by a veterinarian within five (5) working days after pickup or shipping.  Nissekatt’s health guarantee covers viral and bacterial diseases, fungus infections, internal and external parasites, as well as congenital inheritable defects. If the veterinarian feels that the cat is ill and the illness was present during the five (5) day guarantee period, the breeder should be contacted at once before major treatment has begun (except in an emergency situation). If the cat should become ill or die from a problem present prior to sale, the breeder will replace the cat with another of equal quality, upon receipt of a written statement from a licensed veterinarian. In the case of a congenital inheritable defect, the breeder will replace the cat at any time with one of equal value again with the written statement from a licensed veterinarian. (Note: Breeder reserves the right to a second opinion). Please note that during times of stress, such as going to a new home, cats can exhibit temporary signs of illness which may include: sneezing, runny nose, watery eyes, diarrhea and/or constipation. To help reduce the signs of stress, feed the cat identical food as the breeder and offer bottled water, as well as taking reasonable measures to reduce stress. You can do this by slowly introducing them to the house and the members of the household, as well as limiting the time they are with strangers, children and other animals.  Also note that if they have been recently vaccinated (within 1 week) they may also exhibit cold-like symptoms on rare occasions related to the vaccination. Norwegian Forest Cats  are very sociable animals who enjoy being with humans and suffer from lack of attention. Please take the time to play, talk and love your Norwegian Forest Cat, remember the more love and attention you give them, the more you will get in return. Please inform Nissekatt of the cats' name and also advise breeder a couple of times a year on the cats' development as well as sending pictures or video tapes of your cat in order for Nissekatt  to evaluate their breeding program.
