Cat Show In Lillehammer | Ina's Cats | Visiting Else Nylund | Nylund Farm | Fjords | Waterfalls | Mountains | Bergen |
Viking Ship Museum | Viking Folk Museum | National Costumes | Oslo Scenes

The highlight of our trip to Norway was having the opportunity to finally meet Else Nylund.  We preented her with a book that I had compiled and designed of cats in the United States that all traced back to her original lines.  She said it is the best present she had ever received and she was very excited to tell us how proud she was that we had kept to the way nature intended the Forest Cat without any input from Norway.  It was wonderful to finally meet her after all these years and I hope next time I go over my Norwegian will not be so rusty and can speak a little more with her as she does not speak English.  Tina also discovered that she shares her birthday of September 29th with Else.  What a nice thing to know!  We spent the afternoon looking at old photos and with the help of Ina learning more about the history of the breed.  I hope to return to Norway and visit with her again along with her daughter. She and Ina presented me with a beautiful book on the Norwegian Forest Cat in Norwegian which is out of print. That will always be my most precious souvenir.
