Welcome to the home of Nissekatt Norwegian
Forest Cats. We are located about 40 minutes above Atlanta, Georgia
and have been breeding Norwegian Forest Cats since 1980. We are very
proud of all the cats that have come from this cattery and we hope that we
can share with you some of our cats and kittens and the reason we love the
Norwegian Forest Cats so much. It is a wonderful breed and it is
truly one with nature and yet it is still a breed that very much enjoys
being part of a family. We love all of our cats and want to thank
those that helped us to get started many years ago by trusting us with our
first cats here in the United States in particular Else Nylund of Pans
cattery and Solveig Tonneson of Mjavos cattery in Norway. They
trusted us to help introduce to the United States and continue to
preserve, protect and promote the breed. We are proud to be founding
members of Norsk Skogkattring USA which is affiliated with the Norwegian
club in Europe, Norsk Skogkattring. We are also founding members of
the Norwegian Forest Cat Fanciers' Association which is one of the
non-affiliated breed clubs here in the United States. We register in
CFA (Cat Fanciers'
Association) and TICA
(The International Cat Association) but primarily show in TICA. Nissekatt Cattery was featured on the Animal Planet's Cats 101 Segment on the Norwegian Forest Cat. It was filmed in Atlanta at the Hotlanta Cat Show in April of 2009. Check your local listings for time and date. It runs on a regular basis.
